Hitcents Goes to the Webbys, Again!

June 03, 2013 | webbys

Hitcents Co-Founder Ed Mills and his wife Chrystal attended the star-studded Webby Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City to accept and celebrate two Webby wins for Draw a Stickman Epic on May 21, 2013.  Ed Mills shares his experience attending the event.

It was very exciting to be back in New York for the second year in a row to be honored at the Webby Awards. The Webbys are like the Oscars in the tech/Internet world so we are very thankful for the recognition. In 2012 we were awarded Webbys for Draw a Stickman in three categories and this year we added two more, Webby Winner in Handheld Devices and Peoples Voice Winner in Tablet Devices.

Making my return visit from just a year ago, I felt like a senior at a high school dance. It felt new and exciting with a new venue and theme, but also felt very comfortable and familiar from what I experienced just one year before. I remembered thinking the first year that I wanted to establish a presence at the Webbys. I didn’t want to be a once in a lifetime visitor but to make sure we came back. And we did come back, with two outstanding wins. It really brings to light the talent and imagination of the Hitcents team. Our designers and programmers have pushed the boundaries to create a unique and enjoyable experience for consumers.

The event was bigger, better and more extravagant than ever. Many people at the event seemed to be experiencing it for the first time. When I mentioned Hitcents was a repeat winner we received all smiles and congratulations. This is what inspired me for my 5 word speech “Hitcents – Stickman - Wins Again - Epic” Webby Speech. The Webby Staff that makes it all happen are amazing. When you throw a lot of creative people with very high self-esteems into one big room with lots of drinks and food it turns into a fabulous party creating friendships, partnerships and memories that can last a lifetime.

The Webbys helped us recharge and set the bar higher for the coming year. We are hopeful for the developments we have in the pipeline. Keep checking our blog and other social media outlets for sneak peeks about new upcoming projects and games!

PS: Hope to see you at the Webby’s next year!

Ed
